Fundraising Concert for East Midlands Air Ambulance

Our Summer Concert raised around £220 for the East Midlands Air Ambulance. We are particularly grateful to Rachel Ambler (trumpet) and Josh Moses (trombone) for their individual contributions, as well as to the Castleton and Hope Valley Photographic Society for their beautiful slideshow.

Come and Sing 2017: Haydn Nelson Mass

We held our 2017 Come and Sing event on Saturday 28 October, when we rehearsed and perform Haydn's Nelson Mass, with  the University of Sheffield Chamber Orchestra and soloists from the University. Everyone seemed to enjoy the event, singers and audience alike. In a few days, we'll be putting some phtotos and possibly a video clip or two, to give some idea of the event.

Chelmorton Concert

We greatly enjoyed our concert on Wednesday 12 July in Chelmorton Church as part of the village's Festival (and the Buxton Fringe). Starting the concert singing our first sacred pieces in the chancel, then moving into the body of the church for other sacred music, then moving into secular repertoire, we finished the concert with Goodnight Sweetheart. Wine and nibbles followed. Please contact us if you'd like a similar event in your Derbyshire village.

Eroica Britannia 2017

We have just spent a lovely morning singing at the exit of Headstone Tunnel as the riders involved in Eroica Britannia rode past on either their 55 miles or 100 mile rides! Photos to follow.

Navidad Nuestra

On Friday 9 December 2016, Tideswell Singers sang Navidad Nuestra with the Voice for Life Children's Choir, Litton Occasionals, soloist Chris Wye, and readings by Simon White, Gillian White and Paula Serrano Longares. Please see our Facebook page for photos and a short video. We are grateful to Bernard O'Sullivan for the video.

Carol singing at Haddon Hall

Tideswell Singers greatly enjoyed singing carols in the Great Hall at Haddon Hall on Monday 5 December 2016. Although it was rather cold, a lovely audience and surroundings made it worthwhile.

Eroica Britannia, Sunday 19 June 2016

We had a great time, singing at the exit from Headstone Tunnel onto the Monsal Head Viaduct.  We are grateful to Robert Scriven for this short clip of our rendition of The Pushbike Song.

We have now finished our Christmas engagements.

Concert - May 2020

Due to the Corona Virus, we are postponing our concert planned for May until a later date.

"We really enjoyed Saturday's concert, lovely selection of music. A treat to hear such excellent diction, clearest I've ever heard" Audience member, Christmas Concert, 2014
